The United and Stags made it a superb weekend of rugby for the club when they completed a double of Forest of Dean Combination Cups.
Bream 20-23 Cinderford Stags
The Stags lifted the Junior Cup with in dramatic fashion with a late try from Isiah Young wrestling the trophy from Bream’s grasp. Man of the match Ollie Whiting converted a try from Mike Jelf and kicked two penalties as Cinderford held a 13-10 advantage at half-time.
Whiting landed his third penalty early in the second-half, before leaving the field following a clash of heads. With ten minutes remaining Bream took the lead with a converted try, but they failed to clear their lines and conceded a penalty which was quickly taken by Young who forced his way over for a try, which replacement Ryan Walding converted. There was still time for Bream to take the match into extra-time, but a penalty attempt drifted wide and the Stags could start their celebrations.
