The United were once again in sparkling form in C1WN, scoring fifteen tries to defeat a gallant but totally outclassed Chipping Sodbury side. Jonny Holliday, Will Anderson, Stan Norman and Sam Allford scored twice, with Matty Williams, Dan Kibble, Ewan Gwynne, Will Korb, Sam Baker, Harry Johnson and George Gladding also going over. Joe Langbridge kicked thirteen conversions.
Cinderford Stags 47-0 Gordon League
In a thrilling rugby match, the Cinderford Stags faced off against Gordon League and emerged victorious with a commanding score line of 47-0. The Stags wasted no time making their mark on the game, as Reuben Hinds, broke through the defence early on and scored beneath the posts, with Brett Turner successfully converting the try. Tom Reynolds then added to the Stags’ lead, scoring the first of his three tries by touching down in the corner, although the conversion attempt was missed. Building on their momentum, Cinderford continued to impress. Reynolds notched his second try with a brilliant move from the backline, and Turner was once again precise in converting, leading to a halftime score of 19-0 in favour of the Stags. The second half mirrored the first, with Cinderford’s Reuben Hinds repeating his earlier feat by breaking through the defence and claiming his second try. Turner converted once more. The Stags’ fifth try was the result of a scrum at the halfway line, as Gordon League failed to make the required 10-meter distance from the kick-off. Tom Reynolds completed his hat-trick with a try, converted this time by Paddy Hinds, pushing the score to 33-0. Paddy Hinds himself joined the list of try-scorers, showcasing his speed by making a break from his own 40-meter line and touching down under the posts, where he converted his own try. The final try of the match was powered over the line by John Duffin from short range, with Paddy Hinds once again on target with the conversion. The game ended with a score line of 47-0 in favour of the Cinderford Stags. A big thank you to Gordon League for hosting once again.
