Cinderford United made it 4 wins out of 4 this season with a comprehensive victory in an excellent game played at frantic pace. The United began brightly and pack leader and prop Elliot Booley was driven over following a maul from a short range line out. Full back Stef Hawley converted superbly from the touchline. Flanker Joe Garner added a second Cinderford try, unconverted, shortly afterwards. Thereafter the United had to endure a lot of pressure from the home side whose offloading game caused the visitors problems. A converted try by the home side’s full back brought Stourbridge back into the game. However, the United reasserted themselves before half time and a second try for Garner and one for No 8 Will Hodgetts with one conversion by Hawley put them in a healthy position when the interval arrived.
Like the first half the United began the second period brightly. Centre Rob Winchle charged down a clearance kick and sauntered in for a try. A scintillating break by Garner took play close to the Stourbridge line and a few phases later second row Milo Reynolds crashed over. Neither was converted. The game continued at a brutal pace and the home side were rewarded with a second try before Cinderford concluded matters with a seventh try from replacement No 8 Loti Molitika. Fly half Tom Law converted to complete an excellent night’s work from the United.
