Cinderford Stags Vs Minchinhampton II
Before kick-off, a minute of silence was observed in memory of Keith Bell, a highly regarded figure at the club.
The match kicked off with Cinderford Stags showing determination, resulting in an opening try by Ian Weyman, converted by Riley Brain. Score 7-0. Paddy Hinds broke through the line for the second try, converted by Riley Brain. Fin Gunter added to Cinderford’s lead with the third try, converted by Riley Brain. Man of the Match Riley Brain scored a try in the corner, extending Cinderford’s lead to 26-0
The second half started with a turnover scrum leading to Jake Hinds beating several defenders to score a try. Ashley Macey received a yellow card, reducing Cinderford’s numbers temporarily. Despite being a man down, Cinderford continued to dominate, with Paddy Hinds scoring his second try of the match, converted by Riley Brain making it 38-0 to Cinderford.
Minchinhampton fought back and managed to score a try, narrowing the gap to 38-7. Tom Ward, the scrum half for Cinderford, showed quick thinking by taking a tap and scoring a try. Unfortunately, the conversion was missed. Joe Freeman made a crucial try-saving tackle, denying Minchinhampton a score. He didn’t stop there and, in his first appearance of the season, broke through several defenders to score under the posts (walked in from about 5 meters) . However, his attempted conversion was unsuccessful, with the ball disappearing down the M5 towards Weston.
Cinderford Stags secured a convincing victory, showcasing fantastic individual performances. A special thank you to Minchinhampton for being excellent hosts throughout the match.
