Cinderford produced a very composed and workmanlike performance to complete the ‘double’ over Plymouth Albion in very testing conditions at Brickfields.
The visitors dominated possession and territory in the first-half but were only 8-3 ahead at the interval with Reece Boughton and Tom Putt exchanging penalties before Jimmy Williams went over for an unconverted try after 35 minutes.
The second-half continued in similar fashion and a well-judged kick into the corner enabled Matt Lane to take advantage of a defensive error to score a second try for the Foresters. A well executed lineout drive saw the visitors extend their lead to 20-3 going into the final quarter when hooker Nathan Taylor went over, with Boughton adding the conversion.
The home side rallied in the closing stages with Dan Pullinger crossing for a try, which Putt converted. Then from the restart a second penalty from Putt saw him claim a losing bonus point for his team.
