Injury ravaged u14s travel to Matson.
Cinderford travelled to Matson with a severely depleted squad. Matson is always a good physical keenly contested affair.
With several key players missing this was always going to be a tough ask for the boys.
The first 10 minutes Cinderford were blown away by a much bigger and skilful Matson team who raced into a 26-0 lead before Cinderford had even woken up. Towards the end of the first half Cinderford found their game and scored t try’s to keep an air of respectability about the score.
Half time
Matson 37-10 Cinderford
Although the game was over as a contest Cinderford played some great rugby led by MOTM Cameron “Boris” Ormond, who took the physical approach and attacked up the middle, this seemed to wake the whole team who went on to out score Matson in the second half, and play the better rugby towards the end of the game.
Positives were a plenty, 2 try’s for CJ Taylor and some great touch finders kicking out of hand by Jack Cook, Nick Kiss tackling like a machine and good positioning by Toby Butcher at full back.
Final score
Matson 51- 29 Cinderford.
