Cinderford U16’s played a warm up game against Drybrook yesterday evening consisting of three 20 minute spells. This was a great opportunity to see how the lifting in the line was coming on and with a few new players. The first period saw Cinderford take the game to their opposition, scoring first with Dan Scholey in wonderful form, starting his run from his own 22. With the hosts rattled and arguing amongst themselves a Drybrook player received a yellow card for stamping on Dan Scholeys chest whilst he was lying on the floor.
The second period saw Drybrook come back at our lads and with Dan Scholey off the pitch and captain David Didcote off with suspected broken collar bone they took full advantage – finishing the period with a 19 – 7 lead. Cinderford had to make adjustments for the final session. Dan Scholey returned to the fray but was clearly not himself. The lads stuck at it but final score was a disapointing 34 – 7 to the hosts. A lot of work still to do
