Cinderford eventually overcame the challenge of Devonport Services in a match played at the Keyham Sports Ground.
The home side made the better start and opened the scoring with a try from Charlie Groves, which Rich Goldsby-West converted. Cinderford soon responded however when winger Sam Smith scored the first of his four tries in the match. Devonport were awarded a penalty try, before Smith scored his second and then Aaron Ryan added an excellent third, both of which were converted by Reece Boughton to give Cinderford a 19-14 lead at the interval.
Nathan Taylor scored the visitor’s bonus point try soon after the re-start, with Boughton converting, before Groves scored his second for the hosts, as their opponents were temporarily reduced to 13 men. Boughton added a penalty before the visitors took control of the match, scoring three more tries in the final quarter through Will Baldwin, and two more for the impressive Smith to complete a comfortable victory.
