JOE DANCER
Joe Dancer has signed for Cinderford from fellow National One side Chinnor RFC and will look to play an integral role in the Forest side’s 2020-21 season. Dancer (26) was born in Oxford and currently lives in Cheltenham and works as an Associate Wealth Planner. Joe is equally adept as a second row or back row and played his mini and juniors rugby at Stow-on-the-Wold RFC. He played for Dings Crusaders RFC in 2013-14 before joining Hartpury RFC for four seasons helping them to win the National One title in 2017 in an unbeaten season. He left Hartpury in 2018 to play two seasons with Chinnor following their promotion to National One that year. Joe also represented England Students during his time at Hartpury University.
Cinderford RFC Director of Rugby Paul Morris commented “Joe is a significant and major signing for us. We really wanted him and believe he is an ideal fit for us as we continue to try and develop and improve. He plays the game in a slightly different way to some of our forwards and we will encourage this and hopefully our environment will bring the best out of him. We are very excited to have him playing for Cinderford.”
Dancer stated “I’m delighted to sign for Cinderford and link up with several former Hartpury team mates. I enjoyed my time at Chinnor and am grateful to them for two enjoyable seasons, however the logistical strain became too much. I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the new season with Cinderford whenever that may be.””
