Cinderford United were on good form overcoming Old Patesians in a match played before the Hartpury College clash.
Former Lydney prop Leigh Green was impressive throughout and he scored Cinderford’s opening try which Dan Trigg converted. Old Patesians replied with a try in the corner, and they went ahead with a penalty goal.
The United quickly replied when Kai Done touched down for a try after some good play from Pete Towers, with Trigg landing the conversion. Second-row Rich Mountford was next to score, following a great tackle from Jack O’Connell and some terrific play in the loose by Kyle Frowen, Trigg again converting to make it 21-8 at the interval.
Straight from the re-start Towers intercepted a pass and raced through under the posts with Trigg adding the extras. The visitors came more into the match as the second-half progressed and eventually crossed for a consolation try.
