Hosts 20 points the better in 12 try thriller

Six first half tries for Cinderford helped them to an impressive 48-28 over Macclesfield with the visitors securing an important losing bonus point. The hosts opened the scoring inside 67 seconds with an Aaron Ryan score and then came the Cinderford dominance. Six tries from six different scorers before the half time whistle had wingers and front row forwards all getting amongst the action, with the best of the first half bunch being an excellent team effort being finished off by Sonny Greenman with style.

With a poor first half put behind them, the away side transformed into a different beast for the second 40 minutes, adding their first points of the afternoon with Harry Oliver converting his own try. With a second score added two minutes later, it seemed as though the two sides had swapped forms.  The visitors second try from Thomas Garrell and third from Oliver again were split by Greenman’s second of the afternoon. But the hosts regained control as Taylor doubled his try tally with just over 10 minutes left to play. Finally, before the final whistle, Oliver secured his hattrick of second half scores to give his side an extremely important losing bonus point.
