Top of the table Taunton Titans emerged from this match with their 100% record intact after being given a stern test by Cinderford.
The visitors were quickly into their stride and winger Richard Bright opened the scoring after just two minutes of play a try, which Gary Kingdom converted. Kingdom then extended the lead with a penalty, before Cinderford responded with a try from prop James Tideswell, which James Moffat converted. Moffat was then on target with a long range penalty to level the scores at 10-10, but Taunton regained the lead when Jake Caulfield went over in the corner. Kingdom landed the conversion and in an extended period of added time at the end of the first-half he was on with his second penalty, to make it 20-10 to the visitors at half-time.
Bright scored his second try early in the second-half, again converted by Kingdom, but Cinderford scored straight from the re-start with replacement George Evans forcing his way over near the posts, with Moffat converting. Taunton scored their bonus point try after 67 minutes when Dan Frost touched down, with Kingdom adding the extras. Once again Cinderford were quick to respond, with scrum-half Alex Frame scoring a well taken try.
The home side put their opponents line under pressure in the closing stages and after several scrum re-sets the referee awarded them a penalty try, which Moffat converted. For some reason the referee blew up early, much to the disappointment of the home crowd, so Cinderford missed out on the chance to mount a final challenge for a win.
