Chinnor edged past Cinderford with a strong second-half performance that earned them a bonus point victory.
The home side made the better start to the match and their pressure brought them two penalties which were successfully kicked by James Butler. The visitors responded when replacement Caolan Ryan broke clear and put winger Josh Hudson over for a try, which Laurence May converted. Cinderford re-took the lead when from an attacking lineout hooker Nathan Taylor was driven over and they went further ahead when a well-executed move saw Sam Smith race through to score under the posts, with Butler converting. Right on the stroke of half-time some poor decision making and kicking from Cinderford led to Chinnor reducing the deficit, when a long pass found Will Harries and he scored an unconverted try in the corner.
The visitors quickly went back in front when the play re-started, with good hands realising Hodson to score his second try, which May converted. Then pressure on the home try line saw Luc Jeannot force his way to give his team a 24-18 lead after 56 minutes of play. Cinderford then encamped themselves deep in opposition territory and after a succession of penalties and close calls Taylor eventually went over for his second try.
The conversion that would have given Cinderford the lead was narrowly missed, meaning Cinderford needed another score to secure the win. Unfortunately Chinnor stole the ball when Cinderford looked in a strong position, and made the game safe when scrum-half Will Flinn scored their fifth try, which May converted.
