Old Pats U15’s 5-29 Cinderford U15’s
A challenging day on a tight pitch with a bitterly cold wind welcomed both teams today. Cindeford got off to a quick start against a determined Pats side, three mins in and after a quick passage of play through the backs James scored in the corner. Kicking for the extra two in the conditions was always going to be tricky and Toby was close with his effort.
Play for the next twenty mins was with the Old Pats team securing a lot of ball at the breakdown and creating chances to break the Cinderford defence.
However, tackling was superb and Pats could not find a way through until ten mins from the break, a well worked try evened up the score. Cinderford were not finished and it was great to see Dubes touching down wide after some great hands by Ed Knox . Conversion was added to make half time score 12-5 In Cinderfords favour.
Playing ‘down the hill’ in the second half the game followed much the same pattern as the first half, Pats created some good chances but it was some solid tackling by the boys that kept the try line uncrossed. Three further trys by George, Will A and Josh, with one converted, completed a satisfying performance against good opposition.
Well done boys ! Difficult conditions.. dug deep and got the job done.
