Cinderford Bucks suffered their first league defeat on Saturday, narrowly beaten by an Old Centralians side boasting 4 first team players and a Glos academy player. The Bucks only just managed to scrape a side together and could not be faulted on their endeavour or their commitment. The Bucks soon took the lead through a James Taylor try soon followed by a Jared Reeks touch down. Old Cents scored a try converted try of their own. The Bucks responded with a further 2 tries. Andrew Davis scoring his second try in as many weeks. Back came Old Cents to bring the score to Old Cents 21 Bucks 26 at the break.
The Bucks were now fired up at some disgraceful refereeing decisions throughout the first half and responded with a further 2 tries from full back Ryan Walding. However the second half was descending into a farce with Old Cents questioning every refereeing decision and getting the decision reversed on more than one occasion. Old Cents now had the upper hand and started putting some good rugby together on what was a cow pat of a pitch. With one minute left on the clock Old Cents had brought the score back to 36 38. That one minute went on for a further 5 and the Bucks normally strong defence allowed Old Cents through to score the decisive winning try. Final score Old Cents 41 Bucks 38.
