Cinderford Kick Off New Year on Home Turf v Darlington Mowden Park
Saturday 3 January 2015 (National 1 KO 2.30pm)
Back in front of a passionate home crowd Cinderford delivers two fixtures to welcome in the rugby New Year. Looking to start the second half of the season with a much needed win the Foresters welcome league newcomers Darlington Mowden Park to the Beavis Memorial Ground and are determined to even the results following a home win for DMPRFC last September.
With DMP having won two from the last five games, Cinderford edge marginally ahead with three wins from the last five league encounters and in a crucial home game for Cinderford, a five point victory would see the Forest team come out of the relegation zone and the prospect of a positive second half to the 2014/15 season.
Following a week off over the Christmas period, the Cinderford squad returned to a full training programme on Tuesday and Friday fully focused on the opportunities ahead and tasked to put in to a vital top performance for both the First XV and United games.
Team changes see the return of Nev Codlin, starting for Alex Frame who moves to 9 from the wing. Clive Stuart-Smith moves to the bench. Dan Fry starts for the suspended George Mills. Sam Hanks comes in for Al Bryan and Ed King also comes back from long term injury onto the bench.
In the Zoo Sports division 1, Cinderford United are also playing at home (the Bridge) at 2.30pm and welcome Henley Hawks Bulls. Good luck to both Cinderford teams.
