County Plate quarter final. (17th March, The Bridge)
With a Semi-final against Longlevens the “prize” for the winner, Cinderford welcomed Thornbury to The Bridge.
After some early exchanges, Will Baldwin ran in a fine try, converted by Jack Guy to give the home side an early advantage that they were never too relinquish. Further first half tries from Connor Gresty (2) and Benzo James, all successfully converted by Jack Guy gave Cinderford a lead at half time of 28 – 7, Thornbury having scored and converted a try of their own.
Cinderford were playing up the slope in the second half, but an early penalty from fully 40 yards by Jack Guy settled any nerves to give Cinderford a lead of 31 – 7. Will Baldwin scored 2 further tries to complete his hat-trick and a further Connor Gresty try saw him complete a hat- trick too. Thornbury did score a consolation try to leave the final score at 46- 12 to Cinderford.
