We have worked hard to try to get the Supporters Club up and running, but this season we are very disappointed with the number of people not taking the opportunity to travel to away fixtures on the Minibus. The first season of the Supporters Club, it was usual to have a coach for away games, now we cannot even fill a 16 seater mini-bus.
We know times are hard, but the more that come the cheaper the fare. Unless we can improve the numbers we cannot see that the work involved is worthwhile. Our standard of rugby is now at the greatest it has been and the players and coaches deserve our support. We have to notify the mini-bus hirer by Wednesday a.m. so the deadline for numbers is required by Tuesday evening. This week we had people apply as late as Saturday morning.
We have 3 more away games before Christmas; 24th November at Sedgley Park, 15th December at Loughborough, and 22nd December at Coventry. For the Loughborough match 15th December we have been invited to a free lunch at a local pub close to the ground. This has been organised by an ex Lydney resident and we have been asked to present a replica shirt to a gentlemen, who is a Cinderford supporter who moved to Loughborough 50 years ago.
