On a beautiful crisp winter morning in ideal playing conditions, Cinderford welcomed Old Richians to The Bridge. Cinderford had won the fixture at Old Richians in September and so were looking to complete the double.
Cinderford played the first half “downhill” and took full advantage with an early try from Luke Marrot. Luke quickly added 2 more tries to give Cinderford an early 15-0 lead. A fine try from Will Baldwin soon followed to cement Cinderford’s domination. Old Richians were strong in the scrum to their credit but Cinderford’s backs were in no mood to give them any time in possession.
A fine move then saw Cinderford attacking the Old Richians line and some fine counter rucking by Cinderford saw Joshy Haddock gather the ball from the foot of a ruck and power over the line from 8 yards to score his first try for Cinderford.
Another fine solo run from Ollie Moore was rewarded with a further try to Cinderford and only a penalty from Old Richians late in the first half saw the half time score 30-3 in Cinderford’s favour.
The second half started and a fine try from Will Baldwin early on saw Cinderford increase their lead. Old Richians then scored a try to reduce the deficit.
Luke Marrot then added a further try to take his tally to an impressive 4 tries, this one being converted by Jack Guy.
Will Baldwin added a further try to complete his “hat-trick” and Jack Guy duly converted.
Debutant, Joe Smith scored a try late on and Jack Guy converted.
Old Richians added a further try to make the final score 56-13 to Cinderford.
