Welsh Premiership outfit Llandovery proved too strong for Cinderford in this pre-season fixture. The home side will be disappointed to have conceded six tries, but they scored four of their own, and a strong finish to the match meant that overall they could take quite a few positives out of their performance.
The visitors started strongly, and were soon ahead when prop Dean Howells crashed over, with Cerith Rees adding the conversion.
Mark Davies landed a penalty for Cinderford before their opponents scored again through hooker Adam Yelland, Rees again adding the conversion.
A quickly taken penalty then created the space for home centre Sheldon Stevens to go over for a try under the posts, which Davies converted to make it 10-14.
The second session saw Cinderford taking the opportunity to use all of their 30 man squad, and they briefly took the lead when Kyle Frowen forced his way over for a try.
Back came Llandovery and Matthew Jacobs sprinted clear to score an unconverted try before James Garland scored and converted his own try, to bring the session to a close at 15-26.
Both sides made numerous changes for the third session, and the visitors stretched their lead with further tries from Garland, which he converted, and Chris Knight.
It was Cinderford though who ended the match on top, and they got the rewards their efforts deserved when centre Dewi Scourfield juggled with the ball but managed to control it to score near the posts, and with the last play Jack Adams crossed for a well taken try, both of which were converted by Davies.
