Cinderford Sticks to Game Plan away at Rosslyn Park
Saturday 7 February KO 3:00pm (National 1)

Last week the Foresters lost by the narrowest of margins in an emotionally charged game against Blackheath that generated as much discussion off the pitch as on. Positively it showed that Cinderford is delivering an increasingly stronger and more competitive performance, with consistency. This Saturday the Foresters travel to play third place Rosslyn Park in a hugely anticipated fixture.

Said Nic Corrigan: “We stick to our game plan and just keep going at it. The players know what I am asking of them and what it means to pull on the shirt. We are determined and motivated to achieve the points to secure league safety. It was the week that we wanted in training to prepare us for this big game in London. Rosslyn Park forwards are strong and their line outs are excellent. They will present a fantastic challenge for us, but we can perform there so long as we are ruthless and clinical taking all the opportunities directed at us, which are obviously fewer against the leagues top teams.”

Long standing friend of Cinderford’s DOR, and professional rugby league coach Francis Cummins has been periodically helping out as a guest attack coach and visited the Forest squad this week to run the attack coaching for Corrigan’s men. Cummins played his entire professional career with Leeds Rhinos and more recently was head coach at Super League team, Bradford Bulls. “It’s great to have the calibre and experience that Francis brings and to help with our attack strategy. The players benefited enormously from his session and we thank him for his time,” said Corrigan.

The 22 man squad below will produce the 20 man team named for tomorrow. A few changes see James Butler make his First XV debut after impressing with United. Forwards Elliot Booley and Joe Smart also return to the First XV squad after playing well with United. DR Sam Underhill comes back into the squad after resting.

Other team news sees Cinderford Stags travel to Lydney to play their United side at 2.30pm. Cinderford Bucks are home to another familiar Forest club, Berry Hill Wappers at 2.30pm. Good luck to all teams.
