Cinderford aiming for away win v Wharfedale RUFC
National 1 (Saturday 2 November KO 2.00pm)

Travelling north on Friday ahead of a big game against 7th position Wharfedale RUFC on Saturday, the Foresters are looking to repeat the win they secured last weekend over Old Albanian RFC.

Talking earlier this week on last Saturday’s performance, Andy Deacon, director of rugby said: “Negativity can can sometimes get the best of you in pressure-cooker situations in rugby but the boys put in a big win against Old Albanian when they had to. We produced a workman-like performance and got the result we wanted. We have now lost five, drawn one, and won two and I was very pleased with our attitude on the day and the way we performed, and the result takes a little bit of pressure off us.”

“Playing Wharfedale away this weekend, I am intrigued to see how Dan Scarborough, ex-England winger and their new signing, will play having scored two tries against Hull Ionians last weekend on his debut. They have a very passionate crowd, one which we really enjoy playing in front of and it can be a difficult place to win. But we are coming off a good victory and that always puts you in a position of strength.”

Team news sees Mike Wilcox move to full back from 10 on the return of Brad Davies from injury. Sam Hanks moves to inside centre for an injured Al Bryan, and Jack Adams returns to outside centre, back from injury. Stef Hawley moves to the bench. Marcus Brown starts at 7 with George Mills moving to the bench, on player rotation. Tom Bozzard starts as hooker replacing an injured Ryan Charles and Finlay Sinclair comes back onto the bench.

Other rugby news sees Cinderford United play at home v Dudley Kingswinford with a KO of 2.30pm, and the Stags are also at home to Thornbury RFC.

Good luck to all teams #teamcindy
