In the final week before the start of the SSE National 1 rugby 2012/13 season Cinderford promises an amazing day of drama on the rugby field at its home ground, starting with a 1pm game v Old Patesians followed by a 3pm kick off against Hartpury.
In their final run-out before the Foresters first league game a week on Saturday away to Cambridge, Cinderford steps up the gas with two fixtures that will attract rugby fans from all corners of the county.
“There’s nothing like a bit of local rivalry to build a terrific atmosphere and bring out the competitive best in all our players. Playing these two quality teams will allow us to put on a great show for the crowd, and it will be a superb day for the Club. Cinderford has had one of the most in-depth, rigourous and testing pre-season training programmes to date and we have formed a squad that is eager to start its National 1 onslaught,” said Andy Deacon, director of rugby.
“Our new players are settling in extremely well supported by the more established guys. But this weekend is all about allowing the total squad to make their mark, all vying for a place in the first team.”
Adult tickets cost £5 for both games, so excellent value and an unfolding drama of high energy rugby between local rivals.
