The Bucks produced their best performance of the season so far scoring 74 points without conceding any. They were in devastating form and showed their intent straight from the first whistle with flanker Ruben Hinds running through a stunned defence to score under the posts in the first minute. Cinderford dominated in every aspect of the game and it wasn’t long before second row Zac Hinds piled over for the Bucks second try. Try’s were now coming thick and fast for the Bucks with winger Luke Harris going over for 2 Joe Worgan and Ruben Hinds a further 2. Some of the ball handling in the first half was worthy of a higher league and with fly half Spike Ridler orchestrating the game the Bucks had the freedom of the park. Ridler certainly turned the clock back in this his best game of the season so far. Spotting runners from all angles wasn’t easy but Ridler found time to pick the right pass more often than not (we won’t mention the 3 forward passes). This combined with a dominating no 8 performance from John Jelf secured a first half lead of 50 nil for the Bucks.

The second half saw the Bucks getting dragged into Minch’s game of keeping the ball in the forwards. But Ruben Hinds saw a gap from the half way line and there was no stopping the flanker running in his 5th try. The Bucks showed that they can also play the game by keeping it in the forwards and soon they were driving towards the Minch line then second row Andrew Davis appeared to go over for his first try in five years, the joy was there for all to see. However the Bucks were not finished there and a try for the third brother Jake Hinds completed a family hat trick but it was younger brother who had the final say with his sixth try of the game. Final score Minchinhampton Nil Bucks 74, Bucks scoring 12 try’s in total 6 for flanker and man of the match Ruben Hinds and Joe Worgan converting 6 of them.

Its worth mentioning that the Bucks received a fantastic welcome from the Minchinhampton players and supporters who treated the Bucks to some old fashioned hospitality after the game. However the Bucks still won the boat race. A great day all round for the Bucks winning the game and the drinking
