Despite a late fight back Cinderford are still searching for their first points away from home this season, after suffering another defeat on the road at Loughborough.

The visitors were left chasing the game after a poor start gifted their opponents the initiative with Alex Davis kicking a penalty and then converting a try from James Freeman.  Mark Davies replied with two penalties for Cinderford before the Students went further ahead with tries from Rhys Owen and Henry Taylor, both which were converted by Davis.  A third penalty from Davies made 24-9 to the home side at half-time.

Christian Scotland-Williamson scored Loughborough’s bonus point try early in the second-half, but Cinderford hit back with a try from prop Will Davis, which was converted by Davies.  Craig Dowsett raced clear through to score the home side’s fifth try with Davis adding the extras to make it 36-16 after 57 minutes of play.

However Cinderford finished the match strongly and when Students prop Danny Herriot was shown a yellow card, George Evans and then Mike Wilcox scored tries but it was not enough to secure them any points.
