Cinderford were badly let down by their ball retention skills in this pre-season friendly and were well beaten by Welsh Premiership side Llandovery at Church Bank.

The visitors enjoyed plenty of possession and time in their opponents half throughout the match, but repeatedly lost control of the ball and were made to pay by some clinical finishing from the Welshmen.  Will Thomas, twice and Lee Rees scored tries for the home side, all of which were converted by Jack Maynard as they built up a 21-0 lead by the interval.

Early in the second-half another error allowed Aaron Warren to score an unconverted try, before Cinderford finally opened their account when debutant centre Lukas Slowik touched down, with James Moffat converting.  The home side increased their lead when Shaun Miles went over from a lineout catch and drive and soon afterwards they were awarded a penalty try as the Cinderford scrum buckled under pressure.  Second-row Will Scholes went over for the visitors second try, with Moffat landing the conversion, but Llandovery scored their seventh when Scott Jenkins touched down, with Steff Marshall converting. Cinderford had the last word though when George Mills scored a well deserved try, but the visitors were left to reflect on a disappointing performance.
