Sam Hanks and Finlay Sinclair represented England Counties Under 20’s in a match against Georgia, on Saturday 24th May at Volac Park, Cambridge.

The end result after a closely fought battle was a victory to Georgia 22-23. The game became a forward battle which didn’t quite suite England’s strengths of moving the ball wide with pace.

Sam and Fin had a great week away in Cambridge with the England training squad. They came away with exceptional feedback from the England coaching team which will no doubt further improve their playing ability as rugby players.

There should be a match write up on the England website soon which will provide more analysis.

One response to “Hanks and Sinclair represent England Counties”

  1. Roger Harper says:

There was a great atmosphere at the match with a large crowd including members from the clubs whose players were in the team, representatives from England and Gloucester rugby and parents . Finlay and Sam both played in the midweek match for the duration which England won comfortably and again on Saturday which was a harder game. Both had really good games played very well with some outstanding play.Richmond had 2 players and only Cambridge with 4 had more team members than our club. The comments received from the coaches and members of other clubs were very complimentary We should congratulate Finlay and Sam not only for the way they played but the way they represented the club .If it has not been arranged already I think a write up and photos should go into the papers as a great advertisement for our club.
