Cinderford Hungry for Home Win against Tynedale RFC
Saturday 27 September | KO 2.30pm | National 1

Cinderford has spent the week focusing on elements that caused them upset at Darlington and a narrow miss in securing the win. On Saturday the Foresters welcome Tynedale and seek to record their first win and realise their potential.
Said head coach Neil Loader: “We’re going into another week on the back of defeat and that brings real frustration again, as well as determination. Certain areas were pivotal in Saturday’s result and the interpretation of the scrum laws, at times, seemed to go against us. The players have worked hard on this week. Last week our lineouts and scrums were under extreme pressure. Our defensive alignment, push off the line as a line and communication, are key areas. We need to cut out the yellow cards too.“

“That said you can see the shape of the side coming together and we scored some great tries. We have to acknowledge that the squad is still a work in progress and we are fine-tuning our game plan and platform. There are still plenty of positives and we have had chances to win all three of our games to date. On Saturday we welcome Tynedale, and, as for all home games, we go in with full commitment and enthusiasm, and the desire to get our first win that we really deserve.”
“We haven’t done too badly at home against Tynedale in the past and we really need to achieve the win at home especially as we have a tough month coming up with fixtures against Ealing, Blackheath, Coventry and Rosslyn Park. Tynedale are always strong and they have recruited very well, and their wins have been with narrow margins so far. But it’s their longest journey of the season and we have to capitalise on that and use our home advantage to turn the tables.”

Team changes see Stef Hawley start at full back and Mike Wilcox moves to ten with Mark Davies moving to the bench. Charlie Norman comes off the bench to start on the wing. Hanks and Adams rotate positions. Andy Uren moves to the bench and Danny Pointon starts at scrum half. Alex Gordas comes onto the bench and Sam Wilkes returns to hooker in place of Finlay Sinclair.

Following a great win away at Henley Bulls last weekend, United travel to play Coventry Development kicking off at 1pm. Stags are also away against Lydney 2nds at 2.30pm.
