Cinderford v Sedgley Tigers
Saturday 6 April KO 2.30pm
National 1, Beavis Memorial Ground, Cinderford

Following a tremendous game of rugby and a victorious away win at Blaydon last weekend, where all the guys played to their full potential, Cinderford looks forward to maintaining this great form at home against Sedgley Tigers at 2.30pm.

Said Andy Deacon, director of rugby: “We do sometimes thrive on underdog status and this probably worked in our favour with a tremendous 34-32 victory at second-placed National League One side Blaydon last Saturday. But it also made me think that we can be successful in our determination to meet our objectives, and that anything is possible if you work hard and want it.”

“To this end our campaign continues on Saturday as we take on Sedgley Tigers, who we know will present a dangerous force as they push to maintain their league status. We must be focused, confident and professional in front of a passionate home crowd and deliver the win, again. At training I said to the squad: “Let’s not waste what we achieved last week; before you run out look in the mirror!”

Stef Hawley comes in for Mike Wilcox on a rotation basis, and Luke Allen retains his place in the side after coming off the bench last week. Will Foden is being rested ahead of the big Ealing fixture next Saturday and Jack Adams takes the captaincy for this game.

Other rugby this Saturday sees Cinderford Stags travel away to Bristol Students 2nds; good luck to all teams. Looking forward to next weekend sees a double header as Cinderford United play Ealing Trailfinders 2 at 1pm prior to the Ealing v Cinderford Nat 1 league game at 3pm.
