Cinderford Back at Home to Loughborough Students
Saturday 14 February — KO 2.30pm National 1

Nic Corrigan is looking for another spirited performance from the team this Saturday as Cinderford welcomes Loughborough Students to the Forest of Dean, and planning that ‘love is in the air’ for the Forest faithful after 80 minutes!

Last week saw a battling Cinderford take on a strong Rosslyn Park. Notably the game started with number 8 stalwart, George Evans, leading the Foresters out to mark his 200th First XV appearance for the club. With a scoreboard that perhaps did not reflect the effort and pressure that Cinderford put the Park under, they stayed resilient to the whistle and never gave up as play swung from end to end in the second half.

In a league that demands respect for every team, this week’s fixture presents a huge opportunity, said Nic Corrigan recently. “… with just five points between us and the team above we have a real chance to produce the results we need with still eight games to go.” “Loughborough will bring a quick style of rugby and a wider game plan so this will be an opportunity for us to express ourselves. We cannot be complacent and will not accept second best … “

Changes to the side see Luke Cole return as hooker after playing for Gloucester Rugby last week and Sam Wilkes moves to the bench. Roger Birkin makes a return to a starting place and Shay Kerry moves to the bench. Marcus Brown starts off the bench for Sam Underhill who is unavailable. Jack Adams comes off the bench to start at inside centre, and Sam Hanks moves to the bench. Back rower Dan Fry comes back onto the bench.

Also this weekend, Cinderford United travel to play London Scottish Highlanders KO 1:00pm! Cinderford Stags travel a little closer to home to play Clifton 2nds while Bucks go to Bream to play their 2nd team at 2.30pm.
Good luck to all teams
