Cinderford Determined to Win, Home to Henley Hawks
Saturday 12 October — National 1 KO 2.30pm

Following a hard day at the office last week against Richmond and following highly critical analysis at training this week, the Foresters mood is one of determination, silent strength and confidence to win at all costs against league newcomers, Henley Hawks, who have settled well into the league and sit in 10th position with Cinderford a little below at 13th.

Commented Andy Deacon, director of rugby: “The Richmond game was a bizarre affair. We started well with good ball retention and took an early lead but did not sustain the pressure and build the score. Once Richmond gets on a roll they are a hard team to stop. The positives to take from the game are that our platform was yet again very solid with a good scrum and line out, but we have to pull all our game elements together. We may have a young squad but we have bags of talent among our accomplished players. Errors and poor decision making must be eradicated and reduced forced errors will turn into positive play with point scoring. I have total faith in the players that they will find and play to their full potential and get us back to winning ways.”

“Team changes this week see Jack Adams fully fit and back in at 13 with Sam Hanks moving to 12 for Brad Davies who sustained a back injury last week. Chris Hawkins starts at 11 for the injured Lloyd Stapleton and Danny Pointon starts at scrum half replacing Reece Boughton. Tom Bozzard returns after injury replacing Finlay Sinclair who moves to the bench. Tom Hicks starts in the second row replacing Harry Casson who picked up an injury last Saturday. Joe Garner makes a welcome return and his first appearance of the season, starting at 6 replacing Marcus Brown. Clive Stuart-Smith makes his First XV debut coming onto the bench which is completed by Alex Frame.”

Cinderford United travels in the opposite direction to play Henley Bulls away with a KO of 3pm. Cinderford Stags who are home to Clifton 2 at 2.30pm.
Good luck to all Cinderford teams.
