Cinderford continues pre-season against welsh premiership Bridgend

Saturday 18 August KO 3pm, Dockham Road

Last night saw Cinderford RFC continuing their pre-season campaign with a 26-19 victory over Old Cents RFC. It was another opportunity for the management/coaching staff to cast their eye over a squad of players who largely never played in the first warm up game against Llandovery RFC. The game itself was a generally scrappy affair, but the Cinderford RFC squad gradually improved throughout the game. With some good inter-play between forwards and backs to score the try of the night.

Continuing with the Welsh Premiership theme, Cinderford is looking forward to playing Bridgend RFC at home this Saturday, kicking off at 3pm. The team look to build on the solid start achieved last weekend v Llandovery which was a very competitive game, with valuable game time for a large part of the squad .

All are welcome to come and meet old and new faces and support the team; gate entry is only £2. The game will be played in three sessions of 30 minutes giving all squad members a chance to stake their claim for selection in the first league game.

Pre-season draws to a close next bank holiday weekend in a double-header local derby on Saturday August 25 at 1pm v Old Patesians RFC followed by a 3pm game v Hartpury RFC. The Cinderford RFC squad will be split into two squads, with the timings enabling the management/coaching staff to see the whole squad play on the same afternoon. Cinderford’s first SSE National 1 league game away to Cambridge RFC on 1st September, followed by their first home fixture on September 8th against Coventry RFC.
