Cinderford back with a bang!!

Cinderford welcomed longlevens to a wet and muddy bridge, deemed just playable by the referee. Cinderford with the bare minimum 15 due to a school trip.

Cinderford started strongly putting their opponents under constant pressure camped in Longlevens half for long periods. Finally the pressure told and Luke Penfold barrelled over from close range to open the scoring, Luke has been out injured since September and had a great return.
Following the restart Longlevens put some good phases together and scored 2 tries towards the end of the first half.

Halftime Cinderford 5- 12 Longlevens

Playing down hill in the second half Cinderford got parity up front and put Longlevens under intense pressure finally a well executed move off a scrum resulted in Oscar Baggs picking up and releasing Adam Evans to crash over for a well worked try. Jack Cook stepped up for the conversion from out wide unfortunately just skimmed the wrong side it the post. Resolute defence was a he order of the remainder of the match with Longlevens holding out in a brutally brilliant game of rugby, credit to both teams for a game well played. Even without 7 missing players this is a game that could have gone either way.

Defence was key in today’s conditions and Cinderford‘s lack of fresh legs from the bench eventually was the difference.

Man of the match Adam Evans for filling in at fullback and looking threatening every time he stretched his legs.

Well done boys superb performance onwards and upwards!!
