A GAME OF 2 HALF’s!!!

Playing downhill in the first half, Cinderford soon opened the scoring with a fine try from Luke Marrot, following some fine work by the forwards. The conversion was missed.

Cinderford’s captain, Jack Guy added a further try and completed the conversion to give Cinderford a well deserved lead of 12-0.

Some fine tackling from Cinderford kept the momentum going and following a long phase of possession, Joshy Haddock collected the ball from the base of a ruck and was driven over the line to increase Cinderfords lead and Jack Guy kicked the conversion.

Another fine try from Luke Marrott, with Jack Guy slotting the conversion, gave Cinderford a lead just before half time of 26-0.

Bristol scored a try of their own just before the break and with the conversion being kicked, the half time score was 26-7 to Cinderford.

The second half couldn’t have started any worse for Cinderford with Bristol scoring straight from the kick off and with the conversion being made, Cinderford’s lead was reduced immediately.

Further tries followed at regular intervals from Bristol and Cinderford had no answer to a very strong side and in the second half, Bristol ran in 5 unanswered tries and with 4 conversions, the final score was 40-26 to Bristol.

In this very hard fought game, the medical staff from both sides were kept busy. Ben James did a very good impression of Manu Tuilagi supporting a very fetching head bandage for most of the game. Luke Marrot had to be replaced following a twisted knee.

Cinderford’s final match in the County Cup is against Old Richians and a victory will see them through to the County Plate knockout stages.
