Ever looking for stronger opposition, CInderford U14’s welcomed the unknown quantity of Luctonians to the bridge.  The morning did not start well with team medic Doc Thomas suffering a serious facial injury whilst retrieving the water bottles from his car.  Luctonians arrived with a large squad of around thirty players, compared to Cinderford’s eighteen. In this instance it was definitively a case of quality over quantity.

Cinderford welcomed back Tom, and gave a debut to Stefan, who stepped into the second row to fill the considerable boots of Wilf, who is out with a broken elbow.  Cinderford took the field wearing their new AGCO Finance/Compass Tractors sponsored shirts. The first five minutes was a fairly even contest, with the Cinderford side failing to get into their stride. However, after five minutes the CInderford forwards drove deep into the Luctonians 22 and finished off by scoring out wide. Scores then followed on a regular basis with Cinderford running up a further six tries. Cinderford then rang the positional changes and after some misunderstandings and missed tackles let Luctonians in for a try under the posts.

The second half followed a similar pattern, despite competing well at the breakdown and some good tackling, Luctonians could not stem the flow of Cinderford tries, and a further nine were run up in the second half.  A comfortable victory for Cinderford, who, at times were far from their best and at others played some excellent rugby. Special mention should go to Stefan for a strong performance on his debut.
