A great and dedicated Stags performance came up just short at the full time whistle.
The first half saw a brilliant 1st phase try scored by Carl Edwards in the Cleeve corner and, with a failed conversion opened the scoring at 0-5. The Stags exerted pressure on Cleeve with dominance in territory and possession but couldn’t find their way over for another try before the big Cleeve pack made ground through the centre of the pitch. This surge led to a rare break in defence and finished off with some brilliant handling resulted in a converted try for Cleeve.

Half Time – Cleve 2nds 7 – 5 Cinderford Stags

The second half brought more of the same, with the Stags dominating key aspects of the game but coming up short of the line. A penalty kick by Ryan Walding took the Stags into a 7-8 lead which was the only score of the second half until the last play of the game saw a galvanized Cleeve side snatch victory with an unconverted try in the corner.
A massive well done to all of the lads who really stepped up to the mark against a big, well drilled Cleeve
side.
