CINDERFORD RFC COMPLETES FINAL RESTRUCTURE IN BID TO SECURE NATIONAL 1 SUCCESS

Cinderford RFC recently announced the arrival of Nic Corrigan to the club and now completes its 2014/15 final restructure to concentrate on rugby and securing points to climb the table, following a positive result that saw the team return to winning ways last weekend against Wharfedale.

Former head coach and director of rugby at Chester RUFC, Corrigan has joined the Foresters from the level four side in a bid to help the Cinderford achieve its survival National 1 goals this season, following a tough and disappointing start. The former Royal Navy & Henley Hawks second row retired from playing in 2009 and has previously worked in the field of performance and coaching with the British Olympic Association and Premiership Rugby Ltd. In his first season at Chester, he led the club to the National League Three North title and plans to build the same growth path at Cinderford to allow the club to flourish in National 1.

In his intense and short two weeks in the Forest of Dean, Corrigan has now been appointed as the director of professional rugby & coaching following the departure of head coach, Neil Loader, who joined in the summer. He is supported by Andy Deacon as professional rugby manager, and Paul Morris as player development manager. Corrigan is running the defence and set piece coaching strategy while Paul Morris and scrum half player/coach, Clive Stuart-Smith are leading the attack strategy. The coaching team will also draw on the skills and expertise of specialist guest coaches in the areas of skills, strength & conditioning and performance during the remaining five months whilst recruitment for next year progresses. It will also include the development of coaches including Rich Planchant and the recruitment of a medical services manager.
