The Bucks started 2015 were they left off in 2014 in emphatic style running in 9 tries against a committed Dursley. Playing up the slope at the Bridge in the first half Cinderford took control early on. The Bucks were awarded a penalty and Ryan Walding kicked the ball into touch and gave his team the lineout 5 meters out. The forwards took advantage with a superb catch and drive, Jake Hinds was the beneficiary of the 5 points. Five minutes later the bucks were awarded a scrum 10 meters from Dursley’s try line. Scrum Half Dan Nicholls gathered the ball and went down the blind side feeding winger Ryan Davis who went over in the corner. The Bucks were now well in control and Ryan Davis soon followed up with his second try of the game. Dursley forwards were giving everything and their fly half kicking well out of hand limited the Bucks to scraps. However when Jake Hinds gathered the ball on outside the oppositions 25 meter line there was only going to be one result, He burst through 2 tackles to score his second. With the game now starting to get a little meaty with high tackles flying in Center Joe Worgan collected the ball on the halfway line and ran through a host of opposition players to score a wonderful solo try. Dursley didn’t give up and were rewarded for their efforts with a fine push over try of their own which was converted. With half time looming Bucks lock and a Dursley back row were both awarded yellow cards for punching and retaliation. Half time Bucks 24 Dursley 7.

The Bucks made 4 changes after the break and it wasn’t long before the Bucks started running the ball from all parts of the field. With Mike Jelf on for Dan Cooper it wasn’t long before Jelf was expressing himself and had the freedom of the park to run in his first try. Then came another try from forward Dane Bradley after some fine ball handling from the whole team. The game was now going only one way and the Bucks just kept piling on the pressure. A further two trys were scored by Mike Jelf capping off a second half hat trick with one of the best tries of the game dragging defenders all over the place before scoring under the posts. Ryan Walding converted 7 out of 9 with the final score Bucks 59 Dursley 7. The Bucks now travel to Minchinhampton next Saturday for what I’m sure will be a far tougher test.
