With only pride to play for these sides produced a highly entertaining match that saw 13 tries scored.
Cinderford were quickly on the front foot and full-back Mike Wilcox crossed for the opening try, which Mark Davies converted. Wilcox then made a break which led the next try for Sam Baker, again converted by Davies and further tries followed from Jack Adams and Nev Codlin as Cinderford secured their try-scoring bonus point after just 23 minutes of play. Wharfedale came much more into the game in the second quarter and prop Matt Beesley barged his way over for his side’s opening try, which Tom Barrett converted, to make it 26-7 at the interval.
Codlin scored his second try early in the second-half before Phil Woodhead replied for the visitors soon afterwards. Adams and then Wilcox both went over for their second tries, but Wharfedale once again responded with a penalty try and then Adam Howard touched down. Cinderford wrapped up the scoring in the final ten minutes with a brace of tries from centre Rob Winchle.
