Doncaster Knights kept up their unbeaten start to the season with a five-try bonus point victory over a gallant, but outplayed Cinderford team.
The visitors opened the scoring after just four minutes, there was a hint of a forward pass in the build-up but winger Tyson Lewis went over for a try which Dougie Flockhart converted. Cinderford lost inspirational captain George Evans to the blood-bin with a bad cut as the visitors increased their lead with a try from second-row Matt Challinor with Flockhart converting.
The home side kept battling away but poor execution of any chances they created let them down, then a yellow card to George Mills reduced the home side to 14 men, and in an extended period of injury time at the end of the first-half Challinor forced his way over for his second try with Flockhart again converting to make it 21-0 to the Knights at the interval.
Once again there was an early score for the visitors at the start of the second-half when full-back Paul Jarvis scored a well taken try, with Flockhart again adding the extras. Doncaster continued to be quicker of thought and deed and scored a fifth try though centre Matt Clark, with Flockhart maintaining his 100% record with the conversion.
To their credit Cinderford kept plugging away and they eventually got the score their efforts deserved when replacement forward Lee Fortey forced his way over from a lineout catch and drive.
