Cinderford put a severe dent in Rosslyn Park’s title ambitions with a five-try bonus point victory in a match of high quality rugby throughout.
Ross Laidlaw put the visitors ahead with a penalty after just three minutes play. Mark Davies missed a chance to level the scores with a penalty before Lloyd Stapleton crossed for an unconverted try to put Cinderford infront.
Laidlaw restored Parks’ lead with his second penalty, but the home side quickly responded when prop Nick Selway forced his way over under the posts for a try which Davies converted.
A third penalty from Laidlaw again brought a response from Cinderford when Kai Done burst clear through to score his side’s third try, which Davies converted to make 19-9 after 30 minutes.
Back came Park and right on the half-time whistle Ed Lewis-Pratt showed a good turn of speed to cross for a try wide out, which Laidlaw converted.
Cinderford were on the attack straight from the re-start and hooker Tom Bozzard was driven over for a try from a lineout catch and drive, with Davies converting.
Bozzard soon added a second when he went over near the posts, again converted by Davies to make it 33-16 to the home team.
Lewis-Pratt touched down for his second try to give his side renewed hope, but Cinderford stretched their advantage again when Davies landed a penalty with 20 minutes remaining.
That proved to be the final score of the match as the home team closed out a well deserved victory.
