Liam Hemming scored 19 points to help Cinderford overcome a determined challenge from first-time visitors Broadstreet and earn themselves a bonus point victory.

The home side were soon pressing forward and outside-half Hemming opened the scoring with a penalty. More sustained pressure eventually led to winger Kai Little going over for a try, which was excellently converted from the touchline by Hemming. Much of the play continued to be in the visitors half with Cinderford putting their opponents under pressure in the scrummage and they went further ahead when quick hands down the blindside saw No8 Matt Lane burst through to score his ninth try of the season, which went unconverted and proved to be the final score of the first-half.

Cinderford increased their advantage early in the second-half when their forwards carried the ball up close to the visitors line before it was moved out wide to Hemming, who scored the try but he was unable to convert.  Broadstreet responded with a well taken try from Jeff Gregson, but Cinderford secured the bonus point when Hemming showed good skills to step through the tackles and score his second try after 58 minutes of play, which he also converted.

The visitors were quick to reply again when flanker James Seabrook went over in the corner, but Cinderford made sure of their victory when centre Rob Winchle ran the perfect line to race through under the posts for his team’s fifth try, which Hemming again converted.
