There was plenty of tension in the closing stages of this match, but Cinderford held on to record their first victory of the season over previously unbeaten Tynedale.

The first-half was a very evenly contested affair with home second-row Lance Randall scoring an unconverted try after ten minutes of play, before the visitors replied with two penalties from young outside-half Brett Connon.  Charlie Norman put Cinderford back in front with a penalty, but Tynedale responded with a try from Sep Visser.  A second penalty from Norman saw the teams level at 11-11 going into the interval.

Connon kicked the visitors back ahead with his third penalty soon after the restart, but back came Cinderford with a terrific ten minute burst that brought them three tries.  First to score was winger Sam Baker, they were then awarded a penalty try as the visitors pulled down a lineout catch and drive, and the bonus point try soon followed from Chris McNeil.

Norman converted all three scores as the home side appeared to be well placed at 32-14 ahead going into the final quarter of the match. Tynedale replied with a try from Jack Harrison, and they were also awarded a penalty try to set up a grandstand finish, but Cinderford just held on to claim a much needed victory.
