Cinderford picked up a much needed bonus point victory with a hard-working performance against Hull Ionians.

Despite heavy rain earlier the pitch was in good condition and it was the visitors who made the better start with second-row Danny Paul touching down for an unconverted try.  The home side responded with a try from Jerry Sexton, which Angus Bowyer converted and he also landed a penalty to make it 10-5 after 28 minutes of play.  Cinderford continued to push forward as half-time approached and their efforts were rewarded when hooker Chris Bundy scored a try from a lineout catch and drive.

Soon after the re-start Cinderford scored again through replacement flanker Ben White after the forwards carried the ball deep into opposition territory, Bowyer landed the conversion.  Back came the visitors with Naylor Keane scoring a well taken try, which Issac Green converted.

The home side earned themselves a try scoring bonus point when a strong run from Sexton set up the returning Nev Codlin for a try, which Bowyer again converted from wide out to make it 29-12. Hull Ionians were certainly not giving though and they set up a tense finish to the match when Sam Wilson touched down for a try, which James Ferguson converted.  Both sides had scoring opportunities in the closing stages, but Bowyer made the game safe for Cinderford when he landed a penalty shortly before the final whistle.
