Cinderford kept up their perfect start to the season, but they were pushed hard by a determined and resilient London Irish Wild Geese who were much improved in the second-half.

The home side were soon pressing forward and No8 Matt Lane peeled off the back of a lineout catch and drive to score the game’s opening try after six minutes.  Straight from the restart Cinderford scored again, when James Moffat intercepted a pass and offloaded to Reuben Norville, who scored under the posts, with Moffat converting.  Another lineout drive resulted in a try for second-row Harry Hone as Cinderford extended their lead on the half hour and they secured their bonus point right on the stroke of half-time, when hooker Nathan Taylor was driven over, with Moffat’s successful conversion making it 24-0.

It was a different story in the second-half however as the visitors took the game to their opponents in the early stages and were rewarded with well taken tries from George Owen and Charlie Connor, both of which were converted by Alex Seers.  Back came the home side though with Hone going over for his second try and his team’s fifth, but it was the Wild Geese who had the final say when winger Reon Joseph scored an excellent try, which Ollie Turner converted.
