Blaydon emerged from a tough encounter as deserved winners and push Cinderford further into the National One relegation mire.
The first-half was a very stop start affair with numerous knock-ons from both teams, which was surprising given the near perfect playing conditions. Eventually a strong run by Cinderford centre Sam Hanks created the space for Stef Hawley to score an unconverted try in the corner, which proved to be the only score at the interval.
Blaydon came out in determined mood from the re-start and after an early penalty from Andy Baggett, they scored their opening try through Keith Laughlin. The visitors continued to control the game and second-row Will Witty went over for a try which Baggett converted.
Back came Cinderford and when Hanks went close, they were quickly over the line with prop Jack Cosgrove touching down and James Moffat converting.
Blaydon scored a third try through Craig Willis, when the home side’s lineout let them down again, Baggett again converting.
With time running out Cinderford opted to kick a penalty which replacement outside-half Callum Sheedy put over, but a losing bonus point proved to be their only reward.
