Hartpury deservedly won this fully committed Gloucestershire derby with a strong second-half performance earning them victory over a disappointing Cinderford team.

The home side made all the early running and some excellent handling enabled centre Jack Adams to touchdown for the opening try, which was unconverted. Gareth Thompson reduced the arrears for the visitors with a penalty from in front of the posts, before he landed a second successful kick from 50m out to put Hartpury ahead at the interval.

Once again it was Cinderford who made the better start after the interval, and quick hands put winger Henry Bird over in the corner for another unconverted try.  Hartpury hit back almost immediately, when a quickly taken penalty caught the home defence flat-footed and centre Steve Leonard ran in for a simple try, which Thompson converted.

The visitors dominated territory and possession for much of the remainder of the match and they wrapped up their victory with further tries from Lloyd Evans and Craig Jackson right on the full-time whistle.
