Cinderford United emerged comfortable victors in a lacklustre encounter against a struggling Bromsgrove side. Their opponents had trouble raising a side and the game was in doubt as to taking place shortly before kick off.
Motivation was clearly affected but the United were ahead within five minutes when a driving maul from short range line out produced a try for pack leader and tight head Elliot Booley. Captain and fly half Tom Law added an excellent conversion from wide out on the right hand side.

The visitors were penalized repeatedly at the breakdown as they continually stole the home side’s possession. However, one acceptable turnover in the United’s own twenty-two led to a swift attack and a spectacular eighty metre dash to the try line by United right wing Chris Hawkins. The conversion was missed and there were no more scores in the shortened first half.

The early stages of the second half saw the best of the home side and despite excellent Cinderford defence they intercepted a Cinderford pass to score under the posts. The conversion was a formality. Stung by the score from Bromsgrove’s only attacking threat the United responded in emphatic style and scored four tries in swift and free-flowing fashion. Hawkins added a second try, converted by Law. Soon afterwards left wing Chance Ridler romped home and again Law converted.  Centre Liam Littleton touched down for the United’s fifth try before flanker Mitch Bourne added the sixth and final try following a fine run by Booley. Neither try was converted and the match was cut short by the home side as injuries began to take a toll.
