Cinderford slumped to a seventh defeat in a row, as their dismal National One form continued at Blaydon. After a fairly evenly contested first-half the visitors were totally outplayed after the interval by their opponents, conceding five tries and 31 unanswered points.

The Foresters made a positive start to the match, but the home defence held firm and when broke out of their own half Newcastle loan player Tom Catterick was on target with a penalty, which opened the scoring after nine minutes of play.  Back came Cinderford and following a deliberate knock on they kicked they penalty into corner and set up a driving maul which led to No8 George Evans touching down for an unconverted try. The referee was then quick to award Blaydon a penalty try after just one breakdown of a rolling maul, with Catterick adding the conversion. Home winger Tom Jeffrey was able to race clear to score the simplest of tries following a breakaway down the blindside from a ruck on the half-way line and that made the score 15-5 at the interval.

Cinderford needed to score first after the break but when replacement Mike Uren was shown a yellow card within minutes of coming on to the pitch, Blaydon soon took advantage of the extra man when second-row Chris Wearmouth scored from another powerful forward surge to the try line, Catterick landing the conversion.  Worse was to follow for the visitors when straight from the restart home centre Toby Bain burst clear through a floundering defence in mid-field and made it the line to score a fine individual try, which Catterick again converted. With the match now effectively over as a contest, Blaydon continued to press home their advantage and tries followed from Harry Bate twice and Tom Bramwell, with Catterick adding one of the conversions to complete a comfortable afternoon for his team and a thoroughly miserable one for Cinderford.
