Cinderford Bucks got their season off to a flyer away to the Wappers.

Cinderford young guns were never going to be a match for the powerful and experienced Wappers pack but started playing some expansive rugby straight from the kick off. They soon got their reward when from the ruck scrum half Dan Nicholls took the blind side to run in the Bucks first try under the posts. Converted by Ryan Walding. Berry were rattled but soon came back. From the kick off they gained possession and started to use their driving mall to great effect. The Bucks didn’t have an answer and the Wappers drove over under the posts. With the try unconverted. At 7-5 the bucks then started to take control of the game and it has to be said getting the benefit of some strange refereeing decisions. The Bucks ran in some wonderful tries with their pacey backs Joe Worgan (center) and Tom Reynolds (wing) with Ryan Walding again supply the conversions and a further penalty.

With the half time score at 24 5 and the line out not going to plan, The Bucks realised they had to secure more possession. This is exactly what they did during the second half and the forwards were scrapping for everything and putting on a fantastic display with some crunching takles. However with the Bucks down to the bare 15 through an injury and not a recognised front row the scrums went uncontested with coach Ryan Morgan going in at prop. The Bucks continued to dominate and ran in further tries from Ryan Walding 2 (full back) Jason Walding (hooker) and another from scrum half Dan Nicholls and David Didcote (flanker) and with Ryan Walding in good kicking form to cap a man of the match display the Bucks ended the game winning 53 5. For the Bucks coaches Steve Bevan and Ryan Morgan this was more than they could have expected but with the mix of older heads and very young lads new to senior rugby this was a fantastic start with the future looking bright for the Bucks young guns.
